Second village on the island, with a quieter atmosphere, offering a few pousadas and boat excursions in the surrounding area
It's Ilha Grande's second-largest village, after Abraão, on the west side of the island. Shuttles run to it from Angra dos Reis. You'll find a few pousadas and beach huts here, but above all it's the starting point for new hikes to beaches not accessible from Abraão. The atmosphere here is calmer than in Abraão, and the accommodations easily offer half-board, as well as boat excursions in the surrounding area. From Provetá, you can easily reach the Praia do Aventureiro in 2 hours, or go as far as Araçatiba.
