Paraty can't be appreciated without the beach. The Geko Chill Bar lets you enjoy that Paraty spirit with your feet in the water. It's the beach bar of the neighboring youth hostel (itself simple and pleasant), set up on Pontal beach. The atmosphere is friendly and lively, and the cocktails are affordable - a rarity in Paraty. Live music on certain evenings and caipirinhas sipped with your feet in the sand, facing the sea. You can watch the sun go down in a pleasant setting. A good alternative to the historic center.
