Praia Grande stretches for almost 40 kilometers westwards to Saquarema and Maricá. This is Arraial do Cabo's must for surfers. The waves are ideal for surfing. The dunes give a slightly wild atmosphere to some parts of the beach. Many bars and restaurants can be found on the left-hand side, closer to the center of Arraial do Cabo. It's certainly not the most beautiful beach in the town, which is one of the most beautiful in the region, but it's well worth a visit if you like good waves.
