The most popular beach for swimming and surfing, with a huge stretch of white sand

Praia do Forte beach (not to be confused with Salvador beach) is certainly the best-known of Cabo Frio's beaches. This enormous stretch of white sand is also the most popular with tourists. It's a great place for a swim. Near the fort, a cove allows you to enjoy the turquoise waters without the waves, ideal for children. The Praia do Foguete, an extension of the Praia do Forte, is less crowded, and surfers love it for its fairly high waves. For some, Praia do Forte is the most Caribbean of Brazil's beaches.
