PRAIA BRAVA
A popular beach for surfers and naturists, opposite the Isla do Japones, renowned for its rollers and intimate setting
Praia Brava is hidden behind the hill on the opposite bank of the canal from Fort São Matheus. Its waters are rough. In fact, it's renowned for its rollers. It's a favorite beach for surfers...and naturists. It's an almost deserted beach, with no bars or restaurants. Naturists appreciate its protected nature. Opposite is the Isla do Japones. Make sure you get all the information you need before setting off to walk to the beach in front of the island, as the path is poorly signposted. The surfing beach is not naturist.
