8 km south of Itaipava. The Pousada Alcobaça takes on the air of a British cottage. Set amid 48 hectares of greenery and flowers, owner Laura has created a welcoming haven of peace. Rooms open onto small balconies, inviting guests to read, and a swimming pool is hidden away at the end of a huge garden. Another not-to-be-missed spot is the restaurant, which serves excellent cuisine made with organic ingredients sourced directly from the kitchen garden. Breakfast is as good as it gets: Petropolis French toast, orange cake, homemade fruit juice...
