Founded in 1938, Café Palhares is one of BH's historic botecos, where you can enjoy sausages, rice, tutú and many mineiras specialties... A crowd flocks here every day. That's a good sign in Belo Horizonte, where simple pleasures have pride of place. This small, unpretentious boteco takes part in the annual Comida de Boteco competition, which promotes traditional dishes from Belo Horizonte's popular restaurants, and Café Palhares boasts numerous awards for the quality of its cuisine.
