The Belo Horizonte Municipal Parks and Botanical Zoo Foundation manages green spaces rich in flora and fauna.
The Municipal Parks and Zoo Foundation manages more than 10.7 million square meters of green space, rich in flora and fauna, including 75 parks scattered throughout Belo Horizonte. More than 1,200 animals of 240 different species can be discovered here (albeit in cages), on the banks of the Pampulha lagoon . Some are free-ranging. It is the result of a merger between the former Municipal Parks Foundation and the Belo Horizonte Zoo-Botanical Foundation.
