This eclectic-style building dates from 1920. It showcases the popular art of Minas Gerais, through the imaginations of various artists evoking the origins, history and beliefs of this mixed-race people. The collection includes wooden sculptures and ceramics. The Grand Masters room is particularly noteworthy, featuring works by GTO, Artur Pereira, Zefa, Zezinha, Placedina, Ulisses Pereira, Isabel Mendes and Noemiza, Minas Gerais' leading artists.
