The Garapinha restaurant is very popular with the locals. It has a dual function. Upstairs, it's a restaurant serving good PF(pratos feitos). Traditional Minas cuisine is served, simple and tasty, with no frills, at very reasonable prices. Downstairs, on the first floor, Garapinha is a store selling good Minas Gerais cheeses and pastries. The local doces de leite and doces de goiabada (local fruit) are a must-try. Of course, it's easier to bring coffee back to France than cheese.
