In the beautiful pousada Solar do Carmo, located 100 m from Tiradentes Square, the restaurant is housed in the former slave quarters (la senzala, below the master quarters) of an old mansion dating from 1772. The walls are decorated with a host of antique objects. The restaurant offers a gargantuan buffet for lunch and a very good choice of regional dishes à la carte(feijãotropeiro, poulet à l'ora pro nobis, tutu mineiro). A good address.
