TREM DA VALE
Locomotive and carriages handcrafted to reproduce the old-fashioned atmosphere of the train of yesteryear, covering an 18 km route.
The Trem da Vale runs between Ouro Preto and Mariana, the twin colonial cities, one succeeding the other as capital of the state of Minas. It's 18 km of railroad tracks, in about an hour and several centuries of history. Despite the short distance, the train travels at low speed through the mountains and offers beautiful scenery. The locomotive and carriages have been designed by hand to reproduce the old-fashioned atmosphere of the train. Catering service on board (drinks, snacks). A beautiful ride!
