Former mine in Minas Gerais, offering a guided tour of the 300-metre-long, 120-metre-deep gallery.
It's the oldest mine in Minas Gerais! Since mining began in the 18th century, almost 35 tonnes of precious metal have been extracted here. The descent into the underground galleries is made in the carts used by the miners, along a 300-metre-long gallery down to a depth of 120 metres. There are chapels dedicated to the patron saints of the black slave miners, as well as a natural lake. The water temperature is stable all year round. A guide accompanies the visit with interesting explanations.
