The town may not be as famous as Tiradentes or Ouro Preto, but it is also one of the jewels in the rich Mineiro heritage. The CAT, Centro de Atendimento de Turismo, provides good information on the region, its tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants. It's a beautiful center with a warm welcome. The complex is the former residence (solar) of Lieutenant-Colonel Joao Emery. Today, one of the adjoining rooms houses a small museum containing antiques and photos of the region.
