Pico do Baiano in the heart of Morro d'Água Quente, with four access routes ideal for climbers and mountaineers.
Pico do Baiano is located on the Morro d'Água Quente, a 3-hour walk from the center of Catas Altas. There are four access routes to the summit, which rises to 2,050 m above sea level. According to some climbers, they are the most technical in Minas Gerais and among the most interesting in Brazil. The summit was only conquered in 1994, when the "Odyssey to Twilight" route was opened, and is still considered one of the most difficult in the country by many climbers and mountaineers. Accompaniment by a local guide is compulsory.
