The Romaria is a vast circular building built close to the Bom Jesus de Matosinhos sanctuary. First built in the 1930s, it was intended for the many pilgrims who crossed part of the country in September on their way to the basilica. Destroyed in 1968, it was rebuilt in 1995 and now houses the municipal foundation for art, culture and tourism, as well as a historical and cultural center. Note the two characteristic towers at the entrance, reproduced identically to the old Romaria.
