The Pousada do Garimpo is a large, quality establishment of good standing, unfortunately a little out of the way, but with a superb view of the city centre and the Serra dos Cristais. The rooms and suites are offered in several categories, "standard", superior panoramic, executive and master. The pousada is a safe bet in Diamantina, with a professional and competent staff, even if the furniture in the rooms could use a makeover to match the place. Refreshing swimming pool and very good restaurant: O Garimpeiro.
