Bar do Celso is a real institution in Tiradentes. It serves as a bar, snack bar and restaurant. For normal appetites, the dishes for one person can more than satisfy two. There are good sandwiches to nibble on, very good tutu mineiro and feijao tropeiro and excellent cachaças. Admittedly, it's not necessarily very light, mineira cuisine being by its very nature caloric, but the scent of old soapstone cooking pots is not deceiving. Other establishments in the same style can be found in this central square.
