The Fonte Nova Arena, built for the 2014 World Cup, replaced its predecessor, the Octavio Mangabeira Stadium, which was razed in the summer of 2010. With a capacity of just over 47,000 people, it is a modern structure that in addition to hosting football matches - including the Ba-Vi classico (named after the two Bahian Serie A clubs Esporte Clube Bahia and Esporte Clube Vitória - can be converted into a venue for shows and concerts.
