ARTE DA BAHIA MUSEUM
Museum with a rich collection of decorative and plastic arts from the to the centuries
The museum, which has been in operation since 1918, features numerous works by Bahian artists, sacred images and porcelain. In 1982, it was moved to its current location, the Palacete de Vitoria, the former headquarters of the Secretariat of Education, to provide the vast space needed to showcase permanent and temporary exhibitions. The rich collection is divided into decorative arts and plastic arts (paintings and sculptures), covering periods from the 18th to the 20th century.
