ARTE SACRA MUSEUM
Museum with different cells for different types of art, such as sculptures salvaged from various churches, paintings...
More than 5,000 objects make up the MAS collection of sacred art, one of the most important in Latin America. The building is a former 17th-century convent founded by Carmelites. Its architecture has been modified, displaying Renaissance elements, such as its bell tower - or espadaña - and its imposing façade with rich ornaments of the Mannerist school. Each cell houses a type of art: ivory sculptures recovered from various churches, paintings (including those of the founder of the Bahia School of Painting, José Joaquim da Rocha (18th century).

Beautiful building. Garden, there is a remarkable view over the bay and the sunset is magnificent.
Of course, it is better to the sacred art, but is to be discovered to see where gold and silver past centuries.
