Built in 1842, this fountain in the centre of Itaparica distributes mineral water to city dwellers from a spring on the Santo Antônio hill. On the high wall covered with blue azulejos (decorative ceramics), we can read: "Eh! agua fina, faz velha virá menina", literally: "Eh! quality water, makes the old woman become young again". Drinking there is free, why not try it..
