IGREJA DE NOSSA SENHORA DA AJUDA
A small, ancient church on a hill, housing a beautiful chapel with a single nave and a domed choir
This is the town's oldest and smallest church. Between 1595 and 1606, traces can be found of a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora do Rosário, which was rebuilt in 1673. This beautiful chapel has a fairly simple layout, with a single nave and choir. The choir is covered by a cupola, juxtaposed with the sacristy and the confraternity room (19th century). A fine French stained glass window can be seen. It was restored in 2015.
