CASA DE CULTURA JORGE AMADO
Cultural center with a ground-floor room featuring objects, furniture and accessories belonging to the writer and his family
Jorge Amado is probably the most famous son of the former cocoa capital. Built in the early 1920s and once inhabited by the writer's family (where he wrote his first novel), this beautiful yellow house has been transformed into a cultural center. In a room on the first floor, objects, furniture and accessories that belonged to the writer and his family are displayed. A life-size statue of the man of letters was recently installed in front of the building.
