The Rio de Contas is a pretty river near Itacaré, but it's also a very popular excursion offered by local tourist agencies. The Rio de Contas and Cachoeira do Cleandro excursion involves a 40-minute canoe trip along the river to the marsh, followed by a hike to the waterfall.

A second excursion offers rafting in this river. You'll need to be physically fit to walk a few kilometers and paddle in calm water. Accessible to people in average physical condition.
