This religious festival is the most typical of the small town of Lençois and of the Chapada Diamantina region. It is dedicated to the patron saint of the gold diggers or garimpeiros. The women are dressed as Bahian women. The festival is marked by a procession through the streets of the village and ends with the night of the garimpeiro (gold or diamond digger), which includes concerts in the streets and on the terraces of the bars in the centre.
