In July, Fortal is one of Brazil's liveliest off-season carnivals. To take part, you need to choose your group and buy your t-shirt, theabada. It's your ticket to the three-day carnival. On Thursday, the first day, the program is different and requires the purchase of another t-shirt to serve as a ticket. Prices are excessive, however. In 2023, the four-day festival ran from July 20 to 23. Fortal offers 3 or 4 full days of axé, forró, sertanejo and música eletrônica.
