NAIL-BITING
Wrought-iron bridge built to improve the city's port structure, now a major local tourist attraction
Wrought iron bridge built in 1902. One of the most frequented places in Praia de Iracema. The bridge was built to improve the port structure of the city. Its construction was a project that aimed to become an extension of the pier of the port of Fortaleza. The name comes from the English nationality of the engineers who created the project. The work was interrupted and the project was not completed. In 1994, the Secretary of Culture of the State of Ceará began restoring the bridge, which has become an important local tourist attraction.
