Less polluted urban beaches close to the city: Coqueiros, Tabuba, Cumbuco, Taiba and Fleicheras
All the urban beaches, Iracema, Diaros and Meireles, lined with hotels and restaurants, are unsuitable for swimming. It is necessary to pass the cape, to the south (Ponta do Mucuripe). Futuro, 8 km away, is the least polluted of the beaches near the city. The beaches below are to the north.
Coqueiros, 13 km away.
Tabuba, 25 km away.
Cumbuco, 35 km away.
Taiba, 70 km away, next to the fishing village of Pecem, also large dunes, caves at low tide.
Fleicheras, after Trairi, towards Itapipoca(ita means "stone"), is a beach that Brazilians recommend.
