One of the most awarded in France for its fruit brandies, the Meyer family distillery located in Saint-Pierre-Bois
The Meyer family distillery, created in 1958, is one of the most awarded in France for its fruit brandies. Located in Hohwarth in the Villé Valley, it distills more than thirty varieties of fruit each year thanks to its computer-controlled stills, which are the most modern in Europe. Combining traditional know-how with the most modern technologies, it also innovated in 2007 by elaborating an already renowned Alsatian whisky. The visit takes place with a video projection in the distillation room and ends with a tasting in the cellar. Classic or Grande Réserve eaux-de-vie or rare varieties, liqueurs and creams, all are of exceptional quality. To these should be added the recent superior range of Oncle Meyer and their novelty Les Apéritifs. It is worth mentioning that the Meyer family is at the origin of the creation of the Maison du Distillateur, a magnificent thematic museum located a little after Châtenoi on the road to Villé which retraces in a remarkable way the industrial history of the Meyer family and the evolution of distillation techniques in the Val de Villé.
