LAGOA DAS ARÁRAS
A lagoon with a field of Buritis palms, home to numerous Canindé parrots and birds endemic to the region
This lagoon, transition between the Pantanal and the Amazon, is a field of Buritis palms that live with their roots and the base of their trunks in the water, where you can see hundreds of Canindé parrots with their royal blue and yellow feathers, as well as green and wavy parakeets, and a number of birds endemic to the region. The trunks of dead palm trees are ideal places to build a nest. It is a privileged breeding area for macaws. We come at the end of the day when the activity of the birds is at its maximum and during the magnificent sunset.
