COXIM
Gateway to the Nhecolândia region of the Pantanal, 240 km to the north, now a popular spot for sport fishing
240 km north on the BR163, the small town of Coxim is an ancient land of the Caiapo Indians. Coxim is a gateway to the Nhecolândia region of the Pantanal. It is located just outside the Pantanal ecosystem. Today, it is a very popular place for sport fishing. The rivers and waterfalls of the Rio Taquari are also attractions that Brazilian tourists enjoy. You will have to earn your fishing trip, as it takes no less than 7 hours to reach the town, but it is worth it.
