MERCADO MUNICIPAL DE CARNE FRANCISCO BOLONHA
Meat sales building, restored by engineer Bolonha and now considered a house museum open to the public
Completing the offer of the Ver-o-Peso market, the Mercado Municipal de Carne building is dedicated to the sale of meat. Built at the end of the 19th century, it was restored by engineer Bolonha. Its imposing 5,000-square-meter wrought-iron structure remained under construction for several years, before reopening in 2012. Gradually, the meat merchants returned to the site. Today, the state government considers it a "house museum", open to the public.
