PALACIO ANTÔNIO LEMOS - MUSEU DE ARTE DE BELÉM
Musée d'Art de Belém (Belém Art Museum), housing the town hall and the beautiful salon verde upstairs
It was built at the end of the 19th century and used to house the Belém City Council and, since 1994, the Belém Museum of Art (MABE). During its 117 years of existence, it has successively housed the Court of Appeal, the Chamber of Commerce, the City Council and the Chamber of Deputies. It houses the office of the mayor of the city. It has late neoclassical lines, a style introduced to Brazil with the French Artistic Mission. On the first floor is the beautiful salon verde.
