BOSQUE RODRIGUES ALVES
Ecological reserve ideal for observing small animals in the wild, with orchid garden and lake
This venerable park is over 135 years old. Since 2002, the garden has been redeveloped and granted botanical garden status. It's a 16-hectare ecological reserve, a small piece of Amazonian forest in the heart of the city. Inspired by the Bois de Boulogne, like many Brazilian parks, the idea was to bring nature back into the city. The park features an orchid garden and a lake where turtles roam. Small animals can be seen roaming free. It's a great way to get up close and personal with nature. From the center, take a bus marked Aeroclub.
