The two beaches of Praia do Paraíso and Praia do Sol are located further north, leaving the village. They are the most remote and calmest beaches of the island. Their waters, calm and shallow, are populated by venomous stingrays, and you enter the water dragging your feet to keep them away. The waves make it look like the ocean. The water is clean and the bathing pleasant. There are a few simple but comfortable kiosks along the shoreline, some of which even have hammocks. The access is easy.
