Small artificial freshwater beach on the Maguary River, a bathing area built by American soldiers
Cruzeiro beach is a small artificial beach on the Maguary river, in the Parà capital district of Icoaraci, renowned for its ceramic production, in the Marajoara style among others. This freshwater beach boasts thirteen small bars and barracas, almost with their feet in the water. The beach was originally a bathing area built by American soldiers during the Second World War. The United States had set up a military base on the site, which today houses Belèm airport.
