For those looking for authenticity and Amazonian style, it's a bit of a miss. The Mirante da ilha is a large, modern-style hotel. But this hotel certainly offers the best rooms in the region, most of them with a view of the island. The rooms are simple, functional and clean. Of course, because of the Amazonian heat, they all have air-conditioning. The hotel has its own generator, powered by solar panels, making it totally independent. Unfortunately, the building doesn't have much character.
