The Marco Zero is a monument located in the city of Macapá, capital of Amapá. It is a monolith that marks the imaginary line of the equator. At the time of the equinoxes (March 20 or 21 and September 22 or 23), one can observe on the large sundial the passage of the sun from one hemisphere to the other. The Marco Zero (Marco 0) has become one of the most important tourist attractions in the capital of the "middle of the world". The monument is a 30-meter high building with a circle on top, where the light passes twice a year, during the equinoxes.

Ce monument, plutôt vilain, a le mérite de matérialiser cette ligne imaginaire.
Vous enjambez le marquage au sol et vous avez une moitié dans l'hémisphère sud et l'autre dans l'hémisphère nord. Même le stade de foot est partagé entre les 2 hémisphères, puisque l'équateur passe par le centre du terrain !!!
Au final, l'endroit est sympathique et le personnel à l'accueil, également.
