Originally run by Catholic missionaries, this museum boasts an interesting anthropological collection. There are beautiful ornaments made by the Tukanos. Swings, panpipes, 2 m flutes, hammocks, beautiful Banwa and Tukano ceramics, Yanomami straw baskets and an armadillo shell handbag. Funerary masks from the Rio Cariari surround a coffin in which a bowl of manioc has been placed. The setting is simple and rustic, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Amazonian life. Visitors are accompanied by guides.
