BOSQUE DA CIÊNCIA
National Institute for Amazonian Research reserved for scientists, with 3 basins containing several specimens of peixe boi
While the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA) is reserved for scientists, it stands alongside a wonderful park, the Bosque da Ciência, which was developed for the educational needs of Brazilian schoolchildren keen to establish contact with the rainforest. Three pools house several specimens of peixe boi (manatees), which rise and fall to the rhythm of their breathing.
Otters and macaques move about under the watchful eye of free-ranging macaws. The walk takes you deep into a replica of the Amazon jungle. Tourists will be guided by a student.
