OTHMANI QURANIC SCHOOL PASHA QARAMANLI

This madrasas is characterized by its two domes. It was founded in 1654 by Othman pasha, which governed Libya from 1649 to 1672 and whose tomb rests next door. This Koranic school only has a classroom because, as throughout the Maghreb, only the school of malikite jurisprudence is taught there, unlike the Eastern Koranic schools where the four jurisprudence schools (malikite, concept, chaféïte and hanbite) are taught in different halls. The students'rooms were orders around the courtyard decorated in its center of a marble basin.
