OLD FORUM COMPLEX
Go there and contact
Since the crossing of the Byzantine door, follow the end of Cardo oriented north-east to achieve it. The place of the old forum is surrounded by many places of worship from different periods of time, where little is left. On a first side (arriving, from left to right), you find the sanctuary of Antonin (th century), a Christian church with a few tombs with herrnberchtheim and the temple of Cybèle (I century), goddess of origin phrygienne assimilated by the Greek and then Roman as God of the Nature and mother of the gods. By arriving on the square itself, you will be guided slightly towards the right to observe on the paving a hole engraved circle which served as a game tray. A Byzantine baptistery is at the centre of the square. On a second side (on the right), the old forum is bounded by the Old Basilica (th century) rebuilt under Constantine after being destroyed by lightning.
Finally, on a third side of the old forum (left, left to right): the temple of Liber Pater, the temple of Rome and Augustus (early th century) and the little temple of Hercules with its ionic columns. Leave the old north-East direction forum to see the Curia (th century), directly on the right above the Old Basilica. The members of the Roman City Council were in the Council Chamber of the Curia.
