CYRENE – SHAHAT TOURIST RESORT

The Cyrene Resort offers a tranquil setting, at the top of a escarpment surrounded by palm groves and green countryside planted with vineyards. The air-conditioned rooms (with TV and showers) occupy small, pied buildings, they are correct and relatively clean.

But the main asset of this pleasant little tourist complex lies in the restaurant and coffee, both built in natural caves on the rocky escarpment! The restaurant (open from a. m. to p. m. and p. m. to p. m., from 15 p. m. to 25 p. m.) offers excellent couscous, grilled fish dishes, but also meat dishes (baked lamb or kebab), accompanied by classic soups and salads. Its room in the cave is supported by pillars of large stones. It is very picturesque and quite chic. The café (open from a. m. to p. m.) also offers a unique setting, with its large lounge area buried in the fresh cave.
