This is the Boutique Bohary Yedder shop, which you will surely find in full work. Here, it is from father to son that the profession is transmitted. The Ben Yedder family is the only one in the city to carry out this knowledge. A meticulous knowledge, since you have to count two days of work to make a pair of traditional boots for the brides, known as sabat arabi (Arab shoes) in the shop. In Jebel Nefousa, we also confectionnait such boots, as you will see if you attend the festival of Nalout: Nalout boots, les nalouti, do not contain pompoms, unlike aux fasatoui (the name of a region of Jebel Nefousa). The soles of the boots are made of cow's leather, the rest of the shoe is made of goat leather. The work of leather and the manufacture of shoes are entirely carried out in the shop, but the coloured embroidery that adorn the shoes is made out of the shop by the women of Ghadamès. Women's shoes, named kasaa, have a goat's leather sole and cost 50 DL (sandals 45 DL); for men, they call jali (55 DL). Boots cost 100 DL. Apart from traditional shoes, the shop also offers handmade leather products (belts, purses, etc.) and colourful braided dishes that serve to keep them warm.
