FESTIVAL DE GHAT

Since 1994, the city of Ghat has been vibrating for three days at the rhythm of its traditional festival. Some tour operators organise year-end stays focused on this event, which still remains preserved from tourists'streams, and the latter are welcomed and pampered. The festival begins with a superb opening ceremony where the various Tuareg groups participating are present. This festival is dedicated to the Tuareg arts and culture of the city, with the programme of festivities, camel races, famous méharis, dances and traditional music and crafts in the old town. As never before, the house life itself, its houses open onto beautiful handicraft stands, its squares animate at the rhythm of traditional songs and colourful dresses of women the parents of colors. Attention, during the festival, limited city accommodation opportunities may be insufficient. In this case, you can also expect camping in the surroundings.
