Joël Rauzy is a high mountain professional in Mongolia for a few years and is a professional from the Pyrenees. This is where he created the French Federation of Mushers (this word designates those who make the sled dog) of which he was president before coming to discover this art to the Mongolian nomads. Its base camp is located 80 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar, roughly two hours drive from the Terelj nature reserve. One of Joël's main concerns is the development of winter tourism in Mongolia.
In addition, he works with the American association Pre to Pre, an NGO dedicated to the education of nomadic people in tourism, so that they can work effectively with foreign tourists wishing to discover Mongolia from the perspective of eco-tourism. Joel offers tours throughout northern Mongolia. A fundamentally different approach than that proposed by the majority of the agencies in Ulaanbaatar.
