At the foot of Mount Khiidiin Saridag, the Khagiin Khar Nuur glacial lake lies at an altitude of 1,800 metres. Between 25 and 30 metres deep, it was formed during the Quaternary era. You'll need at least a day's ride (on horseback) to reach its magnificent banks, or two if you prefer to take your time. For walkers, the 50 km are not the easiest in the park, but it's well worth the effort: the forests and valleys through which you have to pass are wild and enchanting.
