The main attraction of this small monastery is a large tree in the main courtyard, covered in blue khatag, the traditional silk ceremonial scarves offered by visitors. Once more important, the monastery also suffered severe damage during the "Great Repression" of the late 1930s. In the 1990s, the monastery's strong community helped it find the donations it needed to rebuild. Today, the monastery is once again active, and ceremonies, prayers and chants are held here, especially in the mornings.
