It was a large building that housed up to 1000 monks but it was destroyed in the 1930s. The current building dates from 1992 and still preserves some statues of Sakyamuni (at the origin of Buddhism) and Tsongkhapa (recognized master of Tibetan Buddhism). About thirty monks live in the place. The less shy ones do not hesitate to speak about the old monastery such as it was, paintings with the support, with all those which will have the chance to go there with an interpreter.
